BDA / DAS Solutions for Public Safety
Maximum Fire & Security provides custom-designed, Bi-Directional Amplifier and Distributed Antenna Systems to extend the coverage range for each unique environment.
Public Safety BDA and DAS Solutions
Effective communication among first responders is crucial during fire and emergency situations. To ensure seamless radio service for these critical moments, it's essential to have a Safety BDA-DAS (Bi-Directional Amplifier and Distributed Antenna System) in your facility. Maximum Fire & Security offers comprehensive solutions tailored to your specific coverage challenges, including on-site consultations and evaluations.
Our team specializes in designing custom BDA-DAS solutions that comply with current industry codes and regulations. Many localities now mandate Public Safety BDA-DAS installations in new buildings and as part of renovation permits or inspection certifications. By installing BDA-DAS systems, you not only enhance communication for first responders, but also empower maintenance, engineering, operations, and security teams with improved productivity and safety.
Discover the benefits of our BDA-DAS solutions today. Contact Maximum Fire & Security for a consultation and evaluation to address your facility's communication needs.

Who needs a Public Safety BDA and DAS System?
Are you aware of the recent code changes mandating a minimum signal strength level (-95 dBm) for Fire, Police, and EMS radio signals in ALL new buildings? Compliance with these regulations is crucial. Signal levels must be measured and recorded by an FCC licensed and factory-certified professional. Furthermore, the recorded data must be documented and submitted to the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for approval.
In cases where any floor FAILS to meet the minimum signal threshold, the building must have a BDA system (also known as ERCES - Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems) installed. It's important to note that these systems, as per code requirements, can only be installed by FCC licensed installers like Maximum Fire & Security.
NOTE
:
These code changes also requires that these systems are re-inspected annually, or if major renovations are done to the building.

Signal Booster Code Requirements - ERRC/ERCES
Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement Systems (ERCES), also known as BDAs (Bi-Directional Amplifiers), have played a significant role since their introduction in the 2009 International Building Code. Today's codes, including the IBC 2015 Section 916, the 2018 International Fire Code (ICC IFC-2018) Section 510, NFPA 72 2010, NFPA 1221 2016, and UL2524, have made it mandatory for all new buildings in North Carolina to have approved radio coverage for emergency responders within the premises.
Complying with Section 510 of the 2018 N.C. Fire Prevention Code, all new constructions in North Carolina must now undergo a final signal strength study to ensure proper Emergency Responder Radio Coverage. This ensures that buildings can effectively pick up radio signals across the entire area, including basements, stairwells, and critical areas, enabling seamless communication for first responders during emergencies.
To meet the stringent code requirements and eliminate "dead spots" that hinder radio coverage, Maximum Fire & Security specializes in installing bi-directional amplifiers. Discover more about this life-saving technology and determine whether your building needs it to enhance fire and public safety in North Carolina.
